20% off at Motel Rocks!

I have just become a member of the Motel Rocks Street Team! As a member I have a discount code that you can use to get 20% off Motel clothes! I am currently interning at Motel and I have just started doing some work for the Street Team side of things too!
Take a look at Motel’s collection because it is amazing at the moment! The great thing about the Motel Rocks website is that you can search for clothes by trends. My current favourite Motel trends are An Eastern Promise (see my previous blog post featuring this trend), Go Big or Go Home and Cobalt Blue.
So enjoy this great discount and let me know what you have bought using it, I’d love to know!

Bargain Hunting

Dress – vintage / Bomber Jacket – vintage / Shoes – Asos / Lace Cycling Shorts – H&M (old- similar here) / Necklace – vintage / Scrunchie – eBay
I have had quite a successful haul this week! First of all these fab shoes arrived from Asos. I am currently obsessed with Doc Martens and have decided to invest in a pair of the boots this winter but cannot justify buying the shoes too – too much money! So, I have settled with these great look-a-like ones from Asos, which were in the sale for just £22.50 – perfect for a bargain hunter like me! I picked up this bomber jacket from a local vintage shop. I love its retro print and oversized-ness! and it is perfect for autumn.

I also went to a flea market at the weekend, which is one of my favourite things to do. I love having a rummage, searching for bargains and imagining what furniture and trinkets I would pick out if I had my own house to decorate. I found some cute gloves with fur cuffs for just £4, as well as this great gold necklace, which was less of a bargain at £16 but I just could not resist!

A Weekend In Lisbon

Dress – vintage / Shoes – Converse / Sunglasses – Rayban / Lipstick – Mac
I have just got back from a long weekend city break to Lisbon! It is a lovely place – very hilly, full of tiles and cobbled streets and of course it was HOT. I sometimes struggle to deal with heat over 30 degrees (which it was) but the outfit above was perfect for keeping relatively cool. These outfit photos were taken inside the Cloisters of the Jeronimos Monastery, which was so beautiful I could not resist having some snaps done!
-Travel Guide-
On our first morning, to get our bearings, we went on a free walking tour with a local guide and it was amazing! It was over 3 hours long and he introduced us to some of the backstreets that the normal tourist would not come across. The way he mixed the history of Lisbon with his own experiences in the different areas is best for learning about a new place. He even introduced us to a lady who makes this traditional Lisbon cherry liquor called Ginjinha. It was pretty strong for midday and I could not drink more than a little cup but I would recommend trying it!
A trip out to Belém is definitely worth the 20 minutes tram ride. This is where the Monastery and Cloisters are, as well as this lovely tower in the sea. We were eventually able to appreciate its views after mastering a moronic and amusing electronic system of controlling people up and down the thin spiral staircase. Oh, and you HAVE to try the Pastéis de Belém for the best custard tart you have ever tasted.

Pretty Print Dress

Dress – Motel / Creepers – eBay / Frill socks – eBay / Necklace – vintage
This gorgeous dress is from Motel, who have some great prints at the moment, which will be perfect for brightening up the darker British evenings to come! As soon as I saw this print on Motel’s website I knew I had to have it. It was difficult choosing between buying the dress, kimono or playsuit but I went for the dress in the end. I love the oriental style of the print and being a smock dress, it is so comfortable! I’m loving the frilly sock with creepers look at the moment and I think this goes perfectly with the dress. What do you think?

Punk Rocker

Leggings – Topshop / Top – Topshop (old) / Denim Jacket – Vintage Levi / Boots – Topshop (old) /
Cut Out Boots – Choies / Converse / Creepers – eBay

I went for a punk look today for work. I just started interning 2 days a week at Motel Rocks in Bristol and I am loving it. So far I have been writing blog posts and updating their social media channels. Finally something fashion based is happening career-wise!

Punk is definitely a trend to watch for AW13 with the 90s grunge fashion of earlier this year not looking to go away any time soon. I always wanted to be a punk (to an extent…). I love tartan, the colours black and red, chunky shoes and converse and dark eye make up. I’m not sure I would go as far as wearing dog collars and safety pins through my ears (my mum actually did this in the 70s!). I love these tartan leggings, which I paired with a simple loose white tee because, to be honest, the leggings speak for themselves. As you can see, I found it difficult choosing which shoes to wear with the outfit so I thought I’d show you all my punky options.
