La Vie Parisienne

Blazer – vintage / Disco leggings – American Apparel / Boots – Dune (old) / Fur scarf – Topshop (old) / Bag – Longchamp / Socks – Primark
Hello! I’m sorry that things have been a bit quiet for a while but I have been super busy getting ready to move to Paris! I arrived on Wednesday and there have, of course, already been various difficulties but having lived here before, I expect this. Other than this, I am loving being reunited with my other half, (temporarily) living in Montmartre and pretending to be Parisienne.
This is what I wore today on a lovely stroll through the Jardin des Tuileries. I am obsessed with tartan at the moment and I picked up this fab oversized blazer at Beyond Retro near Brick Lane when I was last in London. These chelsea boots are nearly two years old and I haven’t worn them for ages but I’ve rediscovered them! I love it when that happens.
As entry to many museums on the first Sunday of the month is free, we then popped into Musée d’Orsay, which formerly was a rail station, to see some great pieces by Monet, Manet, Degas, Van Gough and Picasso.
As this is a new chapter to my life I thought it might be fun to change the blog up a bit! Of course I still adore fashion and being in the fashion capital of the world is only going to increase this but I am thinking of expanding the blog to a more general lifestyle blog, talking about great places to go in Paris and what I have been doing, as well as purely fashion based posts. This may also prompt a name change but I’m not sure. Let me know what you think!

Kilt

Kilt – vintage / Top – H&M (old) / Leather jacket – Asos (old) / Cut out boots – Choies
Being a tartan lover, as soon as a saw this kilt, I knew I had to have it. There are lots of kilts in the shops at the moment so I am glad that the one I own will not be exactly the same as everyone else’s! It looks like a genuine Scottish one as it is a proper wrap around kilt! I love the contrast between the smooth front panel and the pleated back as well as the fringe down the side at the front. I also really like the length of it, any shorter and it would look like a slutty school girl skirt!
It looks great with this bodycon top or, alternatively, a crop top. Finish the look off with a denim or leather jacket – personally I think wearing all black with red tartan is a winner because it means the print stands out.

P.S. Sorry that the photos are quite dark – lighting is going to be a problem with winter around the corner and not getting back from work until 5:30pm!

That Do Impress Me Much

Trousers – vintage / Top – H&M / Creepers – eBay
This is what I wore on Thursday night to the pub for a night of lots of wine and KARAOKE. I know right, you are jealous. I sang Shania Twain – Don’t Impress Me Much on my own, which is the first time I haven’t sung in a group!
I love these gold striped sparkly trousers, which I bought from a vintage market on Brick Lane when I was in London last weekend for LFW. A bargain for just £16 I like how high waisted they are so look great with crop tops or a baggy black tee like I’m wearing here. They are super comfy as well.
What do you think of my new trousers? And what would you sing at the local karaoke – I would love to know!

LFW Street Style

So as you know last Friday I went to London Fashion Week with Motel Rocks, which was lots of fun. I was there to take street style snaps for the Motel Rocks blog and here are some of my favourite outfits:

So some great outfits and a cheeky celeb spot makes London Fashion Week a winner in my eyes.

London Fashion Week S/S 14

Motel Gang
On Friday I went to London Fashion Week with Motel Rocks! I wore this great monochrome dress courtesy of Motel and a leather jacket and shoes to keep the rain off. I added a touch of colour to the outfit with Mac So Chaud lipstick and matching nails. I was really excited about going to LFW but I was also nervous about it being an outfit competition. When you first walk into the courtyard of Somerset House, it is quite intimidating and bizarre because everyone is being ‘papped’ and hanging around waiting for their photograph to be taken, but you soon get used to it.
I was lucky enough to go to show! My friend works for Lavazza Coffee, who is one of the sponsors of LFW, so she invited me along to see the Daks catwalk show. It was an incredible experience and something that I thought I would never get to do, or least not for a while! I was so busy trying to take photos of the show that it went by in a flash and most of photos did not even come out very well because the models walk so damn fast! The Daks collection was very elegant, full of colours such of white, camel and black and I loved the use of tartan and leather.
If you are interested in fashion I would really recommend popping down Somerset House’s courtyard for the next Fashion Week because it really motivating and exciting atmosphere to be in! Did any of you attend London Fashion Week and what were your highlights?
