How to style ss15 sixties and seventies trends

Once again I’m mixing sixties and seventies in one of my current favourite outfits. I finally found THE suede skirt for just 5 euros. That’s the thing with thrifting, it takes time and you have to be patient but boy does it pay off.

I’m loving the knitwear trend for SS15. Of course it needs to be light with short sleeves and bright colours, which makes it great for transitional dressing or just ‘waiting for the sun to return’ outfits. I’m especially drawn to multi-coloured stripy summer jumpers, which are perfect for adding a retro feel to any look and this one is just adorable.

Encore une fois je mélange les styles des années 60s et 70s pour un de mes outfits préféré actuellement. Enfin, j’ai trouvé LA jupe en daim à juste 5€. Trouver des bonnes affaires, cela prend du temps et il faut être patient mais il vaut le coup.

Je kiffe la tendance des tricots pour printemps-été 15. Bien sûr, ils doivent être légers avec des manches courtes et en couleurs vives. C’est parfait pour l’habillement entre saisons et juste pour des outfits le temps qu’on attend que le soleil reviens. J’aime trop des pulls d’été de rayures multi-colorés qui sont parfaits pour ajouter un peu de rétro dans un look et celui-ci est trop mignon.

Restaurant Review: Chilango

Last night, Lewis and I went to Chilango for a lovely mexican meal with some friends. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with a ‘order when you like and share with your friends’ attitude, which is one of my favourite ways to dine. We started off with some homemade tortilla chips and guacamole, which was delicious. Love a good guac. And I had a (couple of) Jamaicón cocktail, which had a great original taste being made from hibiscus flower, ginger, lime and tequiiiiillaaaaa!

Then came the tacos, which were really yummy. Again we shared and tried different ones, well as much as three vegetarians and three meat eaters can try and share food. I tasted three different kinds – grilled cheese and mushrooms; refried beans and soft cheese; and tuna and lime. I can’t say which was my favourite as they were all delicious! I’m looking forward to going back to Chilango to try their quesadillas…and probably more tacos!

Hier soir, Lewis et moi sommes allés dîner avec des potes chez Chilango, un restaurant mexicain. Il y avait une ambiance très détendue avec une attitude de ‘commander quand vous voulez et partager des des amis’, ce que j’aime bien. On a commencé en partageant des chips et du guacamole, qui étaient délicieux. Et j’ai bu un (ou deux!) du cocktail Jamaicón qui a un goût très original vue qu’il est fait du fleur d’hibiscus, du citron vert, du gingembre et du tequiiiilllaaa!

Puis, on a mangé des tacos – miam! Bien sûr, on a partagé et on a essayé des tacos différents, bah autant que trois végétariens et trois non-vegetariens peuvent partager et essayer de la bouffe. J’ai goûté trois tacos différents – du fromage grillé et des champignons; des haricots frits et du fromage; et du thon au citron vert. Je ne peux pas choisir mon préféré parce qu’ils étaient tous délicieux! J’ai hâte d’y aller encore pour essayer leurs quesadillas…et probablement encore de tacos!

Everyone just stop what you’re doing and take a minute to admire these AMAZING jeans. I love them. They’re so unique yet tick so many boxes of this season’s trends. Flares, yes. Fringing, yes. Denim, yes. As the flares are quite a statement, I’ve paired them with a simple plain white tee, leather jacket and these lovely maroon suede boots (I know you’re all jumping for joy for seeing different shoes on the blog rather than my trusty Docs!). Skinny scarves are the key accessory for the 70s trend so I threw that on too.

Tout le monde, arrêtez ce que vous faites et prenez une minute pour regarder ce jean MAGNIFIQUE. Je le kiffe. Il est très unique mais il coche plein de tendances cette saison. Des pattes d’eph, oui. Du frange, oui. Du jean, ouaissss. Vu que ces pattes d’eph sont l’étoile de cette tenue, j’ai mis un tee-shirt blanc et simple, un perfecto et ces bottes bordeaux en daim (je sais que vous êtes tous trop contents de voir des chaussures qui ne sont pas mes Dr Martens préférés sur le blog!). Les écharpes slims sont l’accessoire must-have cette saison alors j’en ai mis une aussi pour finir le look.

The Long Summer Dress

This is the first time I have braved wearing a long dress, always debating with myself that they don’t suit me or that they’re too “grandma”. But somehow this season I love the flowing, hippy look of a long dress and they’re fun to wear too! I kept this outfit quite simple with a classic leather jacket, everyone’s favourite maroon fedora hat and my trusty Docs. Hopefully soon it will be securely sandal season (not this crazy weather that changes every minute) so I can feel as wild and free as one should do in a long floral dress.

C’est la première fois que je mets une robe longue, me disant avant qu’elles ne me vont pas ou elles sont trop “mamie”. Mais en fait cette saison, je kiffe la silhouette d’une robe longue hippy et flottante et elles sont fun à porter aussi! J’ai gardé cette tenue simple avec un perfecto classique, le chapeau favori de tout de monde et mes Dr Martens. J’espère que bientôt le temps permettra des sandales (au lieu de ce temps fou qui change toutes les deux minutes) alors que je puisse sentir libre comme il faut en portant une robe longue.

Lyon Photo Diary

For the May bank holiday weekend we took a spontaneous trip down (a bit more) South to Lyon. Even though it did rain quite a bit, we were still able to enjoy exploring the cute hilly streets, taking in the bright and pastel house colours that made Lyon so different to Paris.

The Fourvière Basilica looks over Lyon from the top of its biggest hill – the view from the top is amazing but it’s quite a climb! There is also an old Roman amphitheatre and ruins nearby, which is quite unique and great to sit and rest tired tourist legs.

The view of the Fourvière Basilica, the fake Eiffel Tower radio tower, courthouse and cathedral all lit up at night was magical. It was hard to capture it in a photo but the Basilica looked like a Disney castle! I couldn’t stop looking at it!

On Sunday morning, we just had time for a quick stroll around the Tête d’Or park, which is just a delight. I hope I’ll be back to Lyon sometime soon to enjoy this haven sprawled out in the sun.

Pour ce weekend de trois jours, on a décidé au dernier minute de passer le weekend à Lyon. Même s’il pleuvait assez beaucoup, c’était super de se balader dans les rues mignons et sur les collines, en regardant les bâtiments colorés et pastels qui sont très différents à ceux dans Paris.

J’espère que vous aimez des photos – on a adoré la vue de Lyon de la Fourvière et l’amphithéâtre romaine qui est très unique. La vue de la Fourvière en lumière à la nuit était magique – comme un château de Disney! Difficile à vous montrer dans une photo.

Dimanche matin, on s’est baladé brièvement dans le parc de la Tête d’Or qui est trop beau. J’espère que je peux revenir à Lyon en plein été pour profiter de ce parc tranquille en soleil.
