There are some days when I look at my wardrobe and I just feel so uninspired, that I just want to sell everything and start again and that I literally have nothing to wear. When such a day occurs, I find that it is a good idea to go back to basics, not try anything fancy and just wear something that comes naturally.
Well that is the advice that I followed yesterday when, after having stared at my wardrobe for hours and having changed countless times, Lewis’ (and my) patience had run out and I threw on his faded The Strokes t-shirt, black skinny jeans, Converse and a leather jacket. To spice up the look a bit, I added my failsafe choker and Ray Ban round sunglasses.
I am actually loving this look and it is all thanks to borrowing Lewis’ band tee. Even if an item is not new itself, if it is new on me then I feel great and as if my style has been given a new lease of life. Although I did not start writing this post to promote my new DEPOP SHOP but it actually seems a pretty fitting time to mention it.
Last week I added lots of secondhand and nearly new high street pieces to my DEPOP @isabellehardy. So please go and have a look, find that new piece you have been looking for, buy my shit so I can buy more shit and hence get my styling mojo back. Thanks a bunch.

Il y a des jours quand je fouille dans mon placard et je ne trouve pas de l’inspiration, je veux vendre tout et recommencer et je trouve que je n’ai rien à porter. Quand vous vous trouvez dans cet état, il faut retourner aux basics, il ne faut pas essayer de créer un look compliqué et il faut mettre ce qui est naturel.
Il fallait suivre ces conseils hier quand les heures se passaient, j’avais changé ma tenue plein de fois et la patience de Lewis (et la mienne) s’est finie. Je pris un t-shirt rock de Lewis, un jean skinny, mes Converses et un perfecto, ajoutant un ras-de-cou et mes lunettes de soleil ronds de Ray Ban pour achever le look.
J’aime beaucoup cette tenue et c’est grâce au t-shirt que Lewis m’a prêté. Même si l’article n’est pas neuf, si je le porte pour la première fois c’est pareil – je me sens super et c’est comme mon style est rené. Bien que je n’aie pas commencé à écrire ce poste avec l’intention de promouvoir mon nouveau compte DEPOP, je trouve que c’est un moment approprié.
La semaine dernière, j’ai ajouté à ma boutique DEPOP @isabellehardy des pièces de commerces presque neuves et d’occasion. Allez jeter un coup d’oeil, trouvez la pièces que vous cherchiez, achetez mes trucs pour que je puisse acheter d’autres trucs et pour que je retrouve mon style.

I talk about their durability, versatility, comfort and, of course, style. It is no wonder that the pyjama trend has really kicked off this season, with more and more people reaching for trainers over heels, it is clear that the ‘no pain no gain’ attitude is not currently in fashion’s favour. The same goes for clothes – why would you pick something restrictive that you can barely sit down in over some loose fitting, straight leg trousers? Why indeed.
I must admit that neither the blouse nor the trousers that I am wearing today are actually pyjamas but you get the illusion they are through their cut and their (almost) matching print. I hardly ever wear spots and I guess some would think that it is quite bold to wear “double spots” but I actually think a spotty co-ord is the best way to rock this tricky print – go all in or don’t bother.
In order to make this mix-and-match co-ord day time appropriate, I have finished off the look with a ballet pump block heel – which incidentally also look like fancy slippers – a baker boy hat and a red lip for that pop of colour. This versatile look would be suitable for day time wear, a night out for girly drinks or even summer workwear.

Il y a de plus en plus de personnes qui choisiraient porter des baskets au lieu des talons du coup le concept que “il faut souffrir pour être belle” n’est plus favorable. Cela est pourquoi la tendance pyjama réussit cette saison – pourquoi mettre quelque chose serré dans lequel on ne peut pas s’asseoir quand on pourrait porter un pantalon ample?
Je vous avoue que ni ce pantalon ni ce chemisier que je porte aujourd’hui fait parti d’un pyjama mais on l’a l’impression grâce à leurs coupes et leurs motifs (presque) coordonnés. Même s’il y aurait des gens qui penseraient que portant deux pièces à pois est bizarre et même si je ne porte pas des pois très souvent, je pense que le meilleur façon de mettre ce motif (qui est difficile à porter) est de le mettre partout!
Pour transformer la tenue de la chambre à la rue, j’ai fini le look en mettant des ballerines à talons carrés – qui ont l’air d’être des chaussons de luxe – une casquette marine et un rouge à lèvres rouge pour ajouter plus de couleur. Cette tenue est parfaite pendant la journée, pour aller en soirée avec des copines ou même pour aller au travail en été.

Having lived abroad in Paris and Barcelona for the past three years, of course there were clothes, although beautiful, that did not make the cut to come with me and my two suitcases. Now I am back in Bristol for an extended stay and have been reunited with my overflowing wardrobe and some forgotten favourites.
So I thought it would be fun to dust off some of these items and do a little series of outfit posts featuring my forgotten favourites. Of course many of these items will no longer be available or are vintage and although some of you may find this frustrating, I hope that you will find some inspiration and I will always try to link some similar items if possible.
Right so now that admin is out of the way, we can all start admiring this amazing suede bomber jacket. It is no secret that both suede and bomber jackets are big news this season so I am pretty chuffed that I already have both trends covered with this beaut. I bought this bomber a couple of years ago in the vintage shop where I used to work in Paris and what made me fall in love with it is its unusual pink tint to the brown suede. It is the perfect jacket for this strange British summer weather we are having and here I have let it do all the talking by just wearing it over a simple black turtleneck and skinny jeans. Finished off with these old New Look loafers, which are another forgotten favourite and are also bang on trend. Huns, it always pays off to hoard clothes.

Pendant trois j’ai habité à l’étranger – Paris et puis Barcelone – du coup il y avait des vêtements que je ne pouvais pas amener avec moi dans mes deux valises. Maintenant, je suis chez moi à Bristol pour quelques semaines et je suis super contente d’être réuni avec mon placard plein à craquer et des pièces favorites mais oubliées.
Donc, je veux vous montrer ces pièces oubliées dans une petite série de tenues. Je vous avoue qu’il y aura des pièces qui ne sont plus disponible ou qui sont vintage et même si cela vous frustre, j’espère que vous trouverez de l’inspiration et je essayerai de lier des articles similaires.
Alors, j’ai fini ma déclaration et nous pouvons commencer à admirer ce bomber en daim trop beau. Ce n’est pas un secret que des bombers et du daim sont toujours super tendance cette saison du coup je suis tellement contente que j’ai déjà ce bomber magnifique pour satisfaire ces deux tendances. J’ai acheté ce bomber il y a deux ans au magasin où je travaillais à Paris. La raison pour laquelle je suis tombée amoureuse de ce bomber est le ton un peu rose de sa couleur marron. Il est juste parfait pour porter pendant ce temps d’été bizarre qu’on a en Angleterre en ce moment et aujourd’hui je ne veux pas détourner l’attention du bomber du coup je le porte simplement sur un haut à col roulé et un jean skinny. J’ai fini le look en mettant des mocassins vieux de New Look qui sont des chaussures oubliées mais qui sont aussi super tendances. Mes choux, il vaut le coup d’accumuler!
